Gordon Construction is a Native American owned construction company located on the White Earth Reservation in Northern Minnesota. We are a full service construction company with experience in a wide range of market sectors. We’ve completed a wide array of projects including Commercial/Residential construction, Site and road construction, pipeline work. We’ve forged a professional reputation within our community and beyond by providing our clients with high-quality and reliable services. A one stop shop for your construction projects.
We are proud of our Native American heritage and strive to make an impact in our community. Of our around 200 employees, we only employ the most qualified, competent people in the industry.
History
Since 1983
Gordon Construction Inc. was established by Harold “Butch” Gordon in 1983 as a small excavating company. Butch has spent his life working in the construction industry. After service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, he began construction employment as a laborer, advancing to supervisor for a large construction company in Chicago, Illinois. He was then employed overseas as a construction superintendent before returning home to the White Earth Indian Reservation to start his own company.
Another leading force in the establishment of Gordon Construction was Butch’s wife, Gladys. Gladys played a strong role behind the scenes as secretary/treasurer after her successful nursing career. Gladys passed away in November 2020 but leaves behind an experienced crew to continue on her role.
In 2020, Matthew Gordon, the son of Butch and Gladys Gordon purchased Gordon Construction. Matt’s goal is to grow Gordon Construction with professional, ethical, positive leadership taught by his Native Elders.
